Why should you join?
The Master Gardener Program offers a unique experience to be trained and certified in consumer horticulture and related areas.
New to the area? Becoming a Lowndes County Master Gardener allows you to gain friends that are excited to share their gardening experiences and help make the community beautiful.
PCS/move often? The Master Gardener Program exist in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
The Program
The program offers educational opportunities as well as volunteering. The program consists of 40 hours of educational training in classroom settings and hands-on programs. In return individuals are to return 40 hours of volunteer service within one year of their educational training.
Registration for the next Master Gardener class will open in August 13, 2024 and Closes in September 12, 2024. Sign up HERE
The training is self paced and will be held on-line beginning October 1, 2024 and must be completed by December 2, 2024.
After the first year as a Master Gardeners are required 20 hours of volunteer service and 12 hours of educational training to remain certified.
